Hamline's MFA program, established in , was the first MFA degree in creative writing in Minnesota. It is distinguished from many writing programs around the country by its encouragement of multi-genre explorations and opportunities to work on the editorial board of the award-winning WATER~STONE REVIEW and to take interdisciplinary electives. Ann Tweedy’s first full-length book, The Body’s Alphabet, was published by Headmistress Press in August and won both a Bisexual Book Award in Poetry and a Human Relations Indie Book Award in It was also selected as a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award and a Golden Crown Literary Society Award. David Mura is a poet, memoirist, novelist, and performance artist who creates his work from the perspective of a Sansei, a third-generation Japanese American. He earned a BA from Grinnell College and an MFA in creative writing from Vermont College. About the Book IN THIS VOLUME are published translations from the original Bengali poems of Rabindranath Tagore. They were all translated by the Poet himself, with the exception of twelve poems. They have not been published before in any book.
